About Bill
A former Plumas County
Supervisor, now retired
Bill Dennison attained his B.S. from the University of California,
Berkeley in 1959 and is a California Licensed Forester. He worked as
a logger in his younger years and then for Diamond Match Company as
surveyor, Resident Forester, Road Construction Manager, and Forest
Engineer, until 1971, when he was employed as Vice President; Timber
Sale Services by Western Timber Association (WTA). He was elected
President in 1980. WTA merged with California Forest Protective
Association in 1988 and Bill was elected President and CEO of the
new organization, California Forestry Association. (CFA),
He retired from CFA in 1994, to work with Culver Fiber and Fuel
until 1995. At the same time, he served as Executive Director of
Sierra-Cascade Logging Conference in Redding until 2006.
Bill was appointed to the Plumas County Board of Supervisor’s by
Governor Pete Wilson; where he served from 1995 until retiring in
2006.
During his tenure with CFA, Bill helped organize Alliance for
Environment and Resources (AER) that branched into groups such as
Shasta Alliance for Resources and Environment (SHARE), Klmath
Alliance for Resources and Environment (KARE), TUCARE (Tuolumne
County) and others across the state.
Much of Bill’s career has been working on the behalf of the forest
products industry and as an advocate for private property rights on
the local, state and federal level.
He is currently working with a national group on the Wayne Hage
Project. This case involves the federal government confiscation of
the Hage family water rights 20 years ago. Wayne Hage, his first
wife and second wife Congresswoman Helen Chenoweth have since passed
away and the family has still not been compensated for this act of
injustice.
Bill maintains an active role in all levels of politics, believes
that grassroots participation is essential to the preservation of
our republic and is in full support of the Tea Party movement. |

Private Property
Rights, Going, Going,
but, Not Gone |
Dennison says "We need to
stimulate public interest in the erosion of Private Property Rights
(PPR) and act now, before they are impacted."
We plan to discuss:
- We have taken our
Private (and Public) Property Rights for granted.
- They are essential
in maintaining our Republic.
- Denial of PPR's are
essential characteristics of Socialism.
- PPR loss occurs by
force (Soviet Socialist Republic) in Russia, or vote
(National Socialism) in Germany.
- Loss may be total
(Russia), partial (England and USA).
- Socialism has been
spread often under the alleged (abolition against poverty) and
now in the U.S., Social Justice....Redistribution of Wealth.
- Human rights cannot
exist w/o PPR's. "To deny Private Property Right's means to turn
men into property owned by the state." Ayn Rand (Atlas Shrugged)
- Progressive's, under
the guise of preservationists have gone so far as to allege,
legislate and litigate Animal Rights over both Human Rights and
PPR's. Thus, the implementation of Endangered Species Act,
Wilderness Bills, Roadless Areas and Presidential Executive
Orders and ever increasing Public Land Trusts.for "The Good Of
The People."
Dennison plans
to discuss two examples of PPR loss:
- Two lots in Half
Moon Bay adjacent to the Pacific Ocean were inherited by
my brother and me. Property taxes have been paid since 1932,
where they are included in a large area adjacent to the
Pacific Ocean. The streets were mapped and named, but
never developed. In 1981, due to lawsuits by
local "environmental" groups, a moratorium was issued on all of
the properties, but we still were required to pay taxes. This
last year, the city doubled the "taxes" through a new school
district "assessment". The short-of-the-story is that we gave
the property to Coastside Land Trust, rather than pay anymore
taxes and fighting a system as absentee owners. The "Willing
Seller, Willing Buyer" concept once again lost in the
political/court arena through the persistence of the far-left.
- The federal
government (Forest Service) confiscation of the Wayne Hage
property without any financial compensation. More is available
on-line.
A few notes that show the difficulties that will be encountered
in our fight to preserve PPR's, open access to federal lands, a
United States of American republic and the U.S. Constitution of
today:
- Grant
Jeffrey, in his book Shadow Government, referenced The
War Atlas, a military study that noted: "As a result of
history dangers to national security, most nations have
joined alliances to protect themselves."
- In the
1970's, theologian France Schaeffer described our world:
"History indicates that at a certain point of economic
breakdown people cease being concerned with individual
liberties and are ready to accept regimentation."
- In 1994,
David Rockefeller said during his United Nations speech;
"All we need is the right major crises and the nations
will accept the New World Order."
- German
philosopher Georg Friedrich Hegel, (1800's) theorized
that "...by planning and actually producing crises,
leaders gain enormous power by stepping in and promising
solutions."
This was in fact what Hitler was able to accomplish. The
Hegel philosophy and actions are supported by socialists
in general and Agenda 21 advocates in particular.
- We have seen
a series of crises in the past 10 years that have
permitted more government control.
- Probably 60
+ percent of Americans, who understand the One World
Government concept would voice opposition. But, they may
waver, when faced with the proposition that only One
World Government can preserve their "riches and peace".
As bleak as our future
may appear, we must never give up. |
