“What we’re trying to do is put
faith back into history,”
said Bill Heid, executive producer of both projects.
“Everything in our world is sort of
sterilized and secularized, and the faith of the men has been taken
out of textbooks in America and around the world. These projects are
all about putting Christ back into history.”

THE EXECUTIVE
PRODUCER OF IN FREEDOM'S CAUSE
Heid is a businessman, entrepreneur and historian who founded
Heirloom Audio out of a desire to give children positive,
Christ-centered entertainment that not only engages the mind but
also educates and inspires.
Heid released Heirloom Audio’s first drama, Under Drake’s Flag, in
2013, and its second one, In Freedom’s Cause, in 2014. Both are
based on GA Henty historical novels that recount real historical
events through the eyes of children within the story. Under Drake’s
Flag spotlights Sir Francis Drake, the first Englishman to circle
the globe who later played a key role in the defeat of the Spanish
Armada. In Freedom’s Cause tells the story of William Wallace and
Robert the Bruce, the two heroes in Scotland’s 14th-century battle
for independence from England.
The
projects have faith at their core – a key point for Heid, who says
too many textbooks have removed God from history. Heirloom Audio’s
projects do just the opposite, making it clear that Drake and
Wallace were committed Christians.
In addition to
Heirloom Audio, Heid’s faith-based work includes being a primary
sponsor of Heart of God International and Heart of God Haiti -- two
non-profit ministry and mission organizations – as well as of a
local private school in Illinois, Unity Christian.
Prior to launching
Heirloom Audio Heid founded two companies of which he still serves
as president: Solutions From Science, which sells solar generators
and other self-sufficiency supplies, and Heirloom Solutions, which
sells non-hybrid, open-pollinated seeds. |
